The 2017 Jackson Big Tuna!
$99 Shipping Most of USA!
Please Note: All 2017 Jackson Kayaks come from the factory "rudder ready" which means the tubing is installed by Jackson inside the kayak. Delaware Paddlesports can install the footpegs, wiring and string required to make your rudder operational ($50 fee). If we install the rudder for you we do everything except actually mount the rudder as it would get damaged in shipping. Mounting the rudder is very easy to attach when the kayak arrives to you.
The 2017 Jackson Kayak Big Tuna is a creature unlike any other on the market, with multiple never before seen features in the kayak fishing world. Leading the charge on these unique elements has to be the ‘Tuna Tank’, a unique bait/live well that requires no plumbing or electronics! It utilizes the water from beneath the boat to circulate into the bait tank keeping fish lively and fresh unlike any other system on the market. The tank also resides in the center of the boat for easy access and management. The possibilities with the Tuna Tank are endless – bring the kids on a trip and have them catch cool creatures and learn about them while in the tank; keep your catch alive to show it off to your friends later before you release it; keep your live bait alive and fresh; insert the cooler option to put your fish on ice or just use it as a cooler for your drinks; insert the solid piece and use it as dry storage!
Jackson Kayak also brings the popular elite seats, with new rear and underside pockets, and new ‘Face time’ seating! Simply rotate the front seat around to face your boat partner in conversation while drifting some fresh live bait from the Tuna Tank and having a few cold drinks while you wait for that big pull down! Guide your friends, children and clients to the fish of a lifetime by controlling the boat from the rear seat while they enjoy the ability to fish without the worry of paddling. Of course, sometimes you can have too much face time and that is why the architects at Jackson Kayak have made the Big Tuna easily convertible and fishable in a solo version as well.
Other familiar Jackson Kayak features such as paddle holders, stagers, wide standing platform, front day hatch, drop down rudder, adjustable foot pegs and a drift chamber for a drag chain or anchor make he Big Tuna an angler’s dream. New features like tackle box stagers, closeable mesh side pockets, rod tip cover and long load safety flag only enhance make the dream even sweeter! Just like the Tuna fish is a unique, powerful force in the ocean, the Big Tuna will also be a force to be reckoned with in our sea of fishing kayaks.
BIG TUNA FEATURES
1 - Ergo Seat
Jackson’s new Ergo Seat is an upgrade with all new 3D breathable mesh fabric, improved lumbar support, strengthened supports for hi-low seating, additional storage spots and compatible with the newer track/hi-low systems being built at JK.
2 - Tuna Tank
The Tuna Tank is a great multiple purpose accessory. It comes with no pre-drilled holes. If used this way, it is an easily accesible storage tub (not waterproof). If you decide to use it as a bait tank, simply drill a few small holes in the front and back of the tank (drill holes based on the size of the bait). Now water and oxygen will flow freely through it, keeping your bait happy and lively all day.
3 - FaceTime seating
Front paddler can face rear paddler. Great for parents!
4 - Hull Design
The Big Tuna is about as stable as standing on the ground. It has a wide base, which is great for tandem kayaking, or standing and fishing. Surprising to most people, the Big Tuna also has plenty of speed and is very maneuverable. It has just the right amount of rocker to turn easily, but not too much to where it is considered loose. It tracks very well, and is really just a blast to paddle.
5 - Rod Tip Protector
The Rod Tip Protector is a great way to store your rods when they are not in use or if you are paddling through tight areas like mangrove tunnels. By concealing the rod tips, they won't get snagged on brush or weeds, and helps prevent you from accidentally breaking your rod on the water. You're on your own with ceiling fans and car doors.
6 - RAM Rod holders
Each kayak includes (2) RAM ¼-20 X .5” Tough Ball (1.5”), RAM 2007 Rod Holder, and a RAM Tube Jr.
7 - 32 oz Nalgene / Central Beverage Holder
Each kayak includes a Nalgene 32 ounce wide mouth water bottle.Made in the USA, our custom Nalgene bottles are decked out with Jackson Kayak logos.
8 - Ram and GoPro Inserts
There are molded-in inserts located throughout our fishing boats for GoPro and Ram mounts. They have have been placed in locations that are convenient for use and optimal for GoPro footage or fishing accessories via ram mounts. The Big Tuna comes with one GoPro mount, one Ram 2007 rod holder, and one Ram Tube Jr.
9 - Drag Chain Chute
The drag chain is a great way to slow down and fish in moving water. Anyone who has fished a river knows the pain of blowing through a great fishing spot. The drag chain chute allows you to run a drag chain cleanly down your kayak. It keeps it tucked away and free from the rest of your gear.
10 - Hull Storage
Open hull space that allows for safe storage of fishing rods, camping gear, PFD’s, dry bags, etc.. A great way to keep your gear safe when traveling and generous volume allows you to pack enough gear for expedition paddling.
11 - Heavy duty seat attachment buckle
Durable and tough attachment that will outlast all the use and abuse you can manage, season after season. Keeps your seat locked in position and makes you feel connected to the kayak.
12 - Rudder Ready
Comes pre-rigged for easy rudder installation, if it suits your paddling style.
13 - Paddle holders/stagers
The perfect compliment to the rod stagers. These allow easy stowing of your paddle when you are ready to make that perfect cast, and keeps it from rolling around or blowing away with the wind.
14 - Flush Mount Rod Holders
Easily reachable rod holders for the rear paddler, super secure for targeting larger fish.
15 - Day Hatch
The Day Hatch is a great place to keep you essentials safe. It is big enough to store a small packable jacket, and stays dry enough to store your phone, wallet, keys, and most importantly your snacks. The Day Hatch is quickly and easily accessible, so you can get to a camera quickly to capture those once in a lifetime memories. *It is always a great idea to keep your important items in a completely waterproof/floating container*
16 - Stand-assist strap
A handy strap that is within reach of the seat and that makes standing up and sitting down safe & easy!
17 - Optional closable side pockets
You just can’t have enough storage and these side pockets are perfect spots to stow smaller gear (not included)
18 - Removable skid plate
We protect the biggest wear area on the kayak with the skid plate. Your keel will last season after season with this smart feature.
19 - Adjustable foot pegs
Making the boat functional for paddlers of all sizes. The foot pegs adjust easily.
20 - Ergonomic Handles
NEW Ergonomic Handles with added grip textured inserts help you keep good contact when carrying your kayak, even when wet. Also, there is no fabric to ensure snag-proof days on the water.

Big Tuna is my first kayak purchase and my first kayak ride so I have nothing to compare but so far I have no regrets. The purchase transaction went smooth , all my questions where immediately answered including recommendations for paddles , tuna tank, and cart, and I didnt get the feeling of being upsold or taken advantage of . It took a total of 5 minutes to put the order together and do the $ thing all on line with no issues . Shipping was fast and the kayak was well covered and protected and made the trip to Northern Minnesota with no issues . A bonus for buying on line and out of state is that there was no sales tax charged !

I've been wanting a kayak for a very long time and it wasn't until we stumbled upon Delaware Paddle Sports that we decided to take the plunge. I had no idea that Brian would be online at 9:30 on a Sunday night ready to answer our questions. The kayak was purchased on Monday and received the following Wednesday just in time to use it for Memorial day weekend. Brian answered our questions and concerns quickly and gave us a call to confirm which kayaks were available. Best customer service.
The Big Tuna kayak is pretty heavy but managable with two people. The kayak is amazingly stable and I was impressed with how easily you could stand up to cast. My husband was able to stand completely to one side and cast with no fear of tipping over. The tuna tank worked extremely well. We were able to keep our bait with no issues overnight (after we drilled holes in it). We will need to paint the tank a lighter color because trying to get any bait out with it being black was difficult. I would strongly recommend this kayak to anyone.

This is a great kayak I have been looking at for a long time. Bought it to use a a single or tandem and it fits the bill. I cant wait to get it to the beach next year but worked great on the lake for a trial run.

Bought this kayak to take family out for fun and this kayak didn't disappoint. Really impressed me by how well it paddled. Paddles easier than an ocean kayak scrambler but not as fast. I paddled by myself with my gf holding the fishing rod for around two miles while she pulled in all the fish. Used the tuna tank for a live well and kept 20 cigar minnows alive no problems (drilled holes in tank) . Really needs a 250cm paddle. You can do with a 240 but that's bare minimum. The ram ball mounts for rod holders seem like they are not strong enough for trolling. I could be wrong, but it flexes the kayak when you push it. They're also in awkward spots. For other things like depth finder, gps are fine. Seats were awesome. Stability was good, but felt rocky. Takes some getting used to. Never felt like getting tipped though. Definitely need a cart of some kind to move around. Service from Brian at dps was awesome. Answered all my questions fast! Shipping was fast! One call and less than a week later I had a big tuna in my yard.
