The 2014 Jackson Kayak Big Tuna is a creature unlike any other on the market, with multiple never before seen features in the kayak fishing world. Leading the charge on these unique elements has to be the ‘Tuna Tank’, a unique bait/live well that requires no plumbing or electronics! It utilizes the water from beneath the boat to circulate into the bait tank keeping fish lively and fresh unlike any other system on the market. The tank also resides in the center of the boat for easy access and management. The possibilities with the Tuna Tank are endless – bring the kids on a trip and have them catch cool creatures and learn about them while in the tank; keep your catch alive to show it off to your friends later before you release it; keep your live bait alive and fresh; insert the cooler option to put your fish on ice or just use it as a cooler for your drinks; insert the solid piece and use it as dry storage!
Jackson Kayak also brings the popular elite seats, with new rear and underside pockets, and new ‘Face time’ seating! Simply rotate the front seat around to face your boat partner in conversation while drifting some fresh live bait from the Tuna Tank and having a few cold drinks while you wait for that big pull down! Guide your friends, children and clients to the fish of a lifetime by controlling the boat from the rear seat while they enjoy the ability to fish without the worry of paddling. Of course, sometimes you can have too much face time and that is why the architects at Jackson Kayak have made the Big Tuna easily convertible and fishable in a solo version as well.
Other familiar Jackson Kayak features such as paddle holders, stagers, wide standing platform, front day hatch, drop down rudder, adjustable foot pegs and a drift chamber for a drag chain or anchor make he Big Tuna an angler’s dream. New features like tackle box stagers, closeable mesh side pockets, rod tip cover and long load safety flag only enhance make the dream even sweeter! Just like the Tuna fish is a unique, powerful force in the ocean, the Big Tuna will also be a force to be reckoned with in our sea of fishing kayaks.

Bought this kayak to take family out for fun and this kayak didn't disappoint. Really impressed me by how well it paddled. Paddles easier than an ocean kayak scrambler but not as fast. I paddled by myself with my gf holding the fishing rod for around two miles while she pulled in all the fish. Used the tuna tank for a live well and kept 20 cigar minnows alive no problems (drilled holes in tank) . Really needs a 250cm paddle. You can do with a 240 but that's bare minimum. The ram ball mounts for rod holders seem like they are not strong enough for trolling. I could be wrong, but it flexes the kayak when you push it. They're also in awkward spots. For other things like depth finder, gps are fine. Seats were awesome. Stability was good, but felt rocky. Takes some getting used to. Never felt like getting tipped though. Definitely need a cart of some kind to move around. Service from Brian at dps was awesome. Answered all my questions fast! Shipping was fast! One call and less than a week later I had a big tuna in my yard.

My son and I attended Paddlesport 2013 in NJ and we were shopping for a Tandem Kayak. We saw a lot of them but the Jackson "Big Tuna" stood out of the rest. We loved the High and low seating arrangement and also the Facetime. We didn't pull the trigger at the show, but after convincing my wife to take a look at the promotional video, she was happy with our decision. We decided to purchase the Big Tuna from Delaware Paddlesports, they were easy to deal with and they also gave us free paddles. Brian delivered the kayak to our home as promised and we are so grateful for the service that they provided. If you decide to buy a kayak, Delaware Paddlesports is the place for you. They are honest, friendly and they have the best deal around.
