Power Pole Micro Anchor

I think one of the most overlooked things when kayaking is anchoring and how it can truly help your success in fishing. Many many times we find that perfect location for fish and the one struggle is wind and currents blowing you right off of your fishing grounds. We have all had this happen. I wanted to take you through a couple of things that Power-Pole has done to make things a little simpler.

You say to yourself, why would I want an anchoring system that has eight foot capabilities to anchor? Well, your right in some aspects. Having a standard anchor trolley system with fifty feet of line is a must. I won’t contest that but really let’s look at the facts. Most fish feed in shallow water environments during the spring, summer and fall. This silent remote anchoring system gives you the capabilities of virtually gliding in with your kayak to target spots without a drift. You fish your location and then can remotely pull the spike up, make another drift and remotely anchor yourself again. This technique allows you to be able to fish with confidence. This anchoring system is great for river systems as well. Imagine being able to float a river system and seeing a nice tree or large boulder in the water. You can stage yourself to target the front of that cover, then you can pull up the spike and hit the eddy’s behind the cover. You are able to really just set down that paddle and let the anchor and currents work for you instead of against you.

As far as our local waters here in Delaware this device is the perfect setup as many freshwater locations we call ponds here are at best ten feet deep. I have used this in these locations and I can tell you with confidence this unit allows you to anchor silently and then move on without as much of getting muck on your anchor or stirring up the water. Saltwater? well, we have many locations in the bay and canal that produce a lot of fish in a shallow water environments. Just look at all of the boat traffic. They are fishing in the areas kayakers fish daily because the fish are there and that’s a fact!

Another really cool feature about this unit is the camera setup capabilities at the top of the spike. You can get a really cool 180 degree view from up above the kayak to capture the whole shooting match. Just simply screw your camera mount to the top of the spike and your ready to capture your next big fish on film. This unit is something to really look at. There are many ways to deck out your kayaks but please keep in mind that anchoring is one of the most important tools you can have.

Delaware Paddlesports carries the Power Pole MICRO Anchor system. If you get an opportunity by all means stop by the shop and we will go over the unit with you.
