New Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax - Spray & Rinse Sealant (09:24)
Meguiar's has released for 2019 their new spray and rinse style Hybrid Ceramic Wax! HCW is a SiO2 (silicon dioxide) based ceramic spray sealant, similar in features to enthusiast favorites like CarPro HydrO2 and Gyeon Wet Coat, yet providing a thicker formula, incredible scent and much better size value. Good to use on all exterior surfaces (paint, glass, trim, chrome, wheels, etc.) At $15 for 26oz, this product is worth purchasing to use for the wheels alone, it's that good!

The video provides my initial thoughts as well as an overview of the product features of HCW and the initial hydrophobic performance. The paint on the test hood was prepped using the new Meguiar's M210 Pro Finishing Polish, followed up with CarPro Eraser. Off camera, HCW was applied to the left side of the hood and the first rinse showcases its best standalone hydrophobic performance. Overall this is an excellent alternative to both Hydro and Wet Coat, as well as McKee's Hydro Blue, Hydrosilex Recharge, and Sonax Spray + Seal. All of these feature the spray and rinse format which does not require a minimum cure period for maximum performance.
Directions (Standard):
1. Wash car with soap.
2. Rinse soap.
3. Spray Hybrid Ceramic Wax on all exterior surfaces.
4. Fully rinse product from all surfaces.
5. Dry car.
Meguiar's Directions (Initial Application):
1. Wash car with soap.
2. Rinse soap.
3. Spray Hybrid Ceramic Wax on all exterior surfaces.
4. Dry with towel (use fully dry towel for final wipe).
NOTE: I recommend on the initial application to spray the surfaces when wet, work the product into the paint using a microfiber towel, then rinse off and dry. Although Meguiar's notes you can skip the first rinse if you've performance the spray and dry step, the product does not feel truly activated until that first rinse has been performed.
Expect months of durability, Meguiar's notes this should be on par with Ultimate Fast Finish in durability. Use as a standalone or as a topper for a wide variety of coatings, sealants, or waxes.
