Product Description

14/3 AWG Triplex Cable - Black/Green/White - 100'

14 AWG Triplex boat cable is commonly used for AC circuits in boats and recreational vehicles.  It is an ideal choice when looking at multiconductor boat cables.  Pacer Group manufactures 16 AWG triplex cable in the USA for longevity and easy installation.  How is that accomplished?  It starts with finely stranded tinned copper conductors.  These conductors prevent corrosion and also allow the cable to be flexible.

Another important aspect of triplex boat cable is the insulation.   The PVC insulation is designed specifically for protection from moisture and fatigue.  These conductors also allow the cable to be flexible.  Flexibility is essential when working in enclosed marine spaces.  The PVC insulation is designed for protection from moisture and fatigue.  It is created during the extrusion process.  The extrusion process for this cable fills the voids between the conductors.  This process eliminates any possibility of moisture or air build up in the wires.  To make it even better, talcum powder is coated on the wires.  This is done to allow for the easy removal of the jacket during installation.

Correctly Striping Triplex Boat Cable (01:30)
Correctly stripping triplex boat cable is a simple task when you have the right tools. For this job, we are going to need two types of tools; a cable cutter and a wire stripper. For the cutters, we will use high-leverage cable cutters. We will begin by measuring our cable. Be sure to add an extra inch or two. It's better to have your cable slightly too long rather than slightly too short. The high leverage cable cutter will cut through the multi-conductor cable with little effort. Now we will remove the outer jacket. If needed you can make a slit between the conductors to make the removal easier. With the outer insulation removed, we can use our wire strippers on the internal conductors. For this, we'll use our compact wire stripper as it perfectly covers the gauge sizes we will be working with. Once we know the correct amount of insulation to strip, we will use our strippers to cut the insulation while pulling it away from the main section which exposes the internal conductors. All that is left is to repeat the process on the remaining wires. With the proper tools, you can safely cut and strip triplex boat cables without damaging the insulation or the internal conductors. You'll find the boat cable and the tools you've seen here, at PacerGroup.net music: https://www.bensound.com
